A very jolly town, clearly doing quite well. All the locals we spoke to were friendly and helpful, particularly the tourist Info in centre of town.
We rented a car for a couple of days from Morris at Sur Car Rental, hilarious and good value.
Mi gusto Puerto Varas!

Went mid October and weather can be a factor.
Went mid October and weather can be a factor. Wanted to get a tour of volcano and park rangers closed the road due to deep snow. Rest of town was nice to walk and stroll around. People were very friendly and helpful.

The Vinoteca at the lake offers great food, combined with an amazing variety of wines, sold at the same price in-store as in the restaurant.

Very beautiful city and surroundings.
Very beautiful city and surroundings. There are a lot of places and natural wonders to visit, any tourist would be impressed. Puerto Varas has a rich history which would amaze any curious mind. I arrived by bus since there are no flights between intermediate cities in Chile and it was very disappointing to find out that there is no proper bus terminal. My bus arrived at 5 am and we had to sit in the floor until a taxi appeared and he took us to the only 24h store in the city, which would only sell through a small window. We had to sit down again on the floor until the sun came out.

Most beautiful city of Chile so far!
Most beautiful city of Chile so far! Convenient transport from the Airport, very beautiful lake view of the volcano, felt safe. Much better place to stay than Puerto Montt, if you are deciding between those two.

This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do.
This is a gorgeous city, surrounded by so many things to do. You can go ski to the Osorno Volcano and spend a full day there. Saltos del Petrohue are so beautiful that you can stay half day there. And going south to Chiloé is something you need to do.
This is a splendid guest house in a lovely lakeside location with a nice garden, albeit well outside Puerto Varas. The staff were friendly and tried hard. Breakfasts and the one evening meal we had were pretty good. The hot tubs are nice. We had a nice room/ suite though the decor was tired and we were disturbed by adjacent music and noise from staff and other guests. I have never given a bad review for a booking.com hotel, but this one is pretty difficult. I have spent 3 weeks in Chile, my comments are benchmarked by other hotels.
This new modular cabin was our favorite stay in Chile. Glass walls felt like you lived outdoors. Close to so many day trips, it was a perfect place to stay for the week. Owners were very friendly and helpful and proud of their property - their house is near by. So many thoughtful touches of where to store luggage, cubby holes. An amazing shower with a frosted glass wall is filled with light. Really a special place to be. We had a one bedroom cabin - there are 2 one bedroom and 2 two bedroom cabins. Very quiet and peaceful.
Beautiful hotel, decorated and maintained with loving touches referencing the German heritage of the owners beyond the name. Being 3 people, we had an apartment with a wood-fuelled stove to ourselves. While the jacuzzi was out of order and we were only staying for 1 night, we could easily see how it could be enjoyable with its incredible view of Puerto Varas.
It was a nice 10 - 15 min walk to the city center, with a great coffee place on the way.
There are too many things to list in a review! The owners Christian and Pyla made me feel so comfortable in their beautiful home which was constructed with every detail in mind and filled with special energy and love. My room and bathroom were gorgeous with views of the lake. The bedding and towels rivaled any 5-star hotel! The furnishings are carefully curated and extraordinary. The breakfast was lovingly prepared and presented. Amazing!
I loved the hostel! The staff was very helpful and kindly assisted us in some health issues we had to resolve.
The garden is wonderful, we would say that is the most beautiful garden we have seen in a hostel.
The kitchen is very equipped and the comum area is a nice cozy place to enjoy the stay and meet others guests and experience Puerto Varas in a unforgettable way.
Nice, historic house now a B and B. Comfortable rooms and bed, nice surroundings near a small lake with a lot of wildlife, attentive staff, very good breakfast. No complaints whatsoever, except that location is a little inconvenient. No direct road from Puerto Vara's to hotel...must take highway and pay toll. Not expensive, but annoying.
We were a group of 3 friends and they offered a room with 3 twin beds, which was perfect. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and breakfast was very good. We slept with the window open in February and noticed lots of dogs barking, but no other noises. Would have liked to stay another day in Puerto Varas.
An excellent small boutique hotel out of the city. Maria and Alexia did their outmost to accommodate all our needs and made us feel like at home.
The kitchen was so good that we did not bother to go anywhere else for dinner. Totally recommend the hot tubs, a relaxation with a view!
Amazing location and view from the property was amazing. Breakfast variety was amazing and along with proper care by staff. Rooms are quite big with amazing free facility like pool and sauna access.
Must stay place when visiting Puerto Varas…
Stunning view of Osorno, Tronador and Chalbulco volcanoes across Lake Llanquihué, hard to beat worldwide. Staff make an extra effort to ensure guests are happy, despite sometimes being very busy. This is a popular Hotel for a reason.
The hotel has a great location in a quiet neighbourhood, yet only a short walk from the centre of Puerto Varas. Marcela was very friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was superb!
Very well located in Puerto Varas; great breakfast and laundry service a very competitive price. Paola did a great job during our stay. They have a small parking spot and it was very useful.
This place was excellent, I’m so glad I found it. It was cosy and the host, Rodolfo was very attentive and kind.
The room was very good and breakfast was typical Chilean fare
Very welcoming hotel. The hot tub was a great surprise. There was plenty of food at breakfast and the common areas were very homely. The view of Puerto Varas has excellent
