My room was spacious , spotless and quiet. The hotel location is great. And… the reception spoke English and actually understood my fast kiwi . A bonus. Breakfast was great and coffee awesome. This hotel was closed for about 18months after pandemic and I for one are really pleased for them that business is doing well. I have been to Bergamo a few times but I will always stay here in the future and would highly recommend this hotel.

Food was great too
The arrival point of low-cost airlines and cheap flights to Milan, beautiful Bergamo is a tourist destination in its own right. In the foothills of the Alps, the city is spread over 2 levels. The main sights are in the upper level, or Città Alta, where sloping, cobbled streets open into pretty squares.
One such square is Piazza Vecchia with its pavement cafés, beautiful library and elegant Palazzo della Ragione. Through its arches is the Cappella Colleoni, an impressive chapel with an ornately sculpted façade and even more ornate interior. The next door Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore has awe-inspiring frescoes.
Surrounding streets contain several Bergamo old town hotels and B&Bs, while surrounding the whole upper city are 17th-century Venetian walls. There are still remains of the Rocca, the castle that guarded them, and there is also a castle in San Vigilio, a hilltop village reached by funicular railway.
A funicular also descends to the modern town – Città Bassa. Nearby is the Accademia Carrara, a fine art gallery, and opposite is the GAMEC modern art museum. The Serie A club Atalanta FC play in a stadium to the north-east, while south-west is the train station from where buses to Orio al Serio Airport depart.
Booking.com offers several Bergamo hotels near the airport and the neighbouring Orio Centre shopping complex.

Bergamo is a very easy city to navigate and is not too swamped by traffic. Very clean and friendly. The old town part of the city - Citta Alta - was beautiful, very atmospheric with lots to see and plenty of restaurants. Bergamo is also a great base to travel elsewhere in the region by train, Milan less than an hour away and Verona around 2 hours distance. Transport around the city to the train station if needed or to the airport are cheap and very regular.

The old city is 20min by taxi from train/bus station.
The old city is 20min by taxi from train/bus station. You can take public transport but due to time we didnt try this. Bergamo old city is on a hill and you can go by car but most go by the funicular. There are only 45 persons per trip which takes 10mins but there is often a queue so best to ensure plenty of time if you are on a tight schedule. You can see most of the old town within 1-2 hours. The highlights are the churches and the restaurants. Some of restaurants serve traditional Bergamo food and wine and is definitely worth trying. They have a traditional pasta Scarpinocc, which is like a ravioli stuffed with cheese, bacon and meat. Rabbit with polenta was delicious. Wonderful food! Summary: you can see Bergamo in a day and its worth the trip

The city are 2 different cities in fact - on the hill there is historical Citta Alta with narrow streets, beautiful churches and a breathtaking view from the city walls and under the hill there is a modern Citta Bassa - full of shops, restaurants and hotels. You can travel between them comfortably with a bus or a railway.

The old town is filled with places to eat and things to do. If you enjoy walking and sightseeing Bergamo is the place to go. Easy access to and from the airport made the trip so relaxing. We tried La Vita and several of the other restaurants up the hill they were all excellent.

Beautiful town, especially Alta.
Beautiful town, especially Alta. We found this location great for using public transport. We took the train to Milan on one day and a train to Lake Garda another day. The people are friendly and lots of choice for food and drinks.
This stay must be one of the best ever. The room was clean, smelled lovely, chilly in the HOT summer. The views were as if we were in a movie. It was surreal sometimes to just stand in that terrace alone and look over the whole city. The Palazzo had great architectural features to admire. The host made us feel like we were a part of the family. Perfectly located in the center of Citta Alta, minutes from the funicular, with a direct airport bus right below. I will get back to Bergamo just to stay here again! Thank you G.
We loved our stay at casa Mia!! Cristina was so kind and friendly from the moment we arrived, she gave us so many helpful tips about where to visit in Bergamo and our next stops in Italy. The hotel was perfectly located in the upper part of Bergamo, close to nice restaurants and shops. The room and bathroom were huge, bed also big and very comfy. Loved the beautiful view as well. Many vegan options provided at breakfast which was so kind and accomodating :) look no further when booking in Bergamo this is the place to be
The hotel is well situated near the main shopping street in Bergamo's "new part" (not the old town on the hill) with lots cool stores, great restaurants and bars.
Getting to the old town is also not too difficult, we just walked for 30 mins but there's also a funicular and a bus that can be taken and you get there under 30 minutes.
The staff was very helpful with getting us a taxi to the airport and I found the cleaning services to be impeccable--they've even folder our cloths.
The location of the hotel is excellent (very near the centre of Bergamo Citta Alta). The contactless checkin process worked well. The staff were cheerful and very helpful. Daniele kindly booked us a 4am taxi to the airport. It was good to have air conditioning in the room and a fridge. The breakfast was superb and the lady who cooked and served the breakfast was very chatty and friendly.
Amazing host, great services. The rooms were looking great, and they were cleaned after the first night, sheets and towels changed. The host even added a bottle of wine and breakfast as gift, no charge and offered great advices regarding the restaurants in Bergamo, Citta Alta and Milano, and tips on how to reach each destination. 10/10 would recommend.
the location is great the hosts are kind and willing. we wanted to leave the car after check out time in the parking place and they where very kind and willing. the communication was easy true Whats-up. a nice clime to the old town. good location! we stayed for one night. and we had everything we needed. 13min from Bergamo airport.
Fantasic hotel to visit the Citta Alta of Bergamo. Very conveniently located, in a beautiful and relaxing surrounding. It feels like you're miles away from the city, but it is a 10-minute walk to get to the main entrance. There is also a beautiful detour through the forest to reach the top of the old city (which is on a hill).
This room is one of the most beautiful locations I have ever stayed at, and I have travelled quite a lot. You see the best parts of Bergamo alta from the two windows, hear the bell chimes from just out of your windows, and really get a feeling that you are in the heart of old Bergamo.
Riccardo and Linda was the most welcoming hosts. The room was great and it was a pleasure staying with them. Make you feel like a family member. So kind!
Riccardo took us from the airport and it was a huge help while we were traveling for the first time in Italy. Thank you!
Wonderful hotel and location. Less than 10 minutes (on foot) from the centre of Bergamo (and perhaps 30 from Citta Alta). The staff were incredibly hospitable and flexible when I needed to make changes to my booking. The free breakfast was fantastic.
Pleasant experience, very friendly and helpful hotel staff & best locality for discovering Bergamo Alta! Some steps from all wonderful historical sites and museums. Good pizzeria and restaurant directly in the house.
Wonderful location.
There is a bus stop right in front of the Hotel. 20 mins bus ride to Airport and 5 mins bus ride to Bergamo station.
Breakfast spread is really good with wide variety.
Best room service.
The hotel is 10 minutes walking from the central station of Bergamo, it is perfect if you need a place next to the BGY airport. The room was very clean, confortable and well organized.
Excellent hotel in Bergamo. I really loved my room, very comfortable and with a little view to Citta Alta. I strongly recommend it. Location is great, in front of the train station.
Very simple check in using the app. Perfect localisation nearby city centre and bus stop from airport. Elegant room with nice bathroom. One of my best staying in Italy
Central for Bergamo, could get the bus opposite for Cita Alta. No1a
Airport bus stopped right outside the hotel No1
Hotel was immaculate, comfortable and welcoming
