For a love hotel, the aesthetic is not too sketchy. it felt pretty equatorial. I like that I could have a drink brought up to my room 24/7. The staff is friendly (at least the one I met). The sound isolation is decent, I only heard cleaning noise in the near room in the morning, though I'm unsure if I had neighbors. The room is spacious and the ceiling high. It's a change from usual Japanese hotel rooms. I appreciate the wooden vibes. The AC is strong so the room cools down and warms up pretty fast. Amazing black out windows at night. No bad smell. a little Jacuzzi. I recommend if you have hard time dealing with tiny hotel rooms in Japan and don't mind taking taking back and forth.

The Todaiji temple and the Kofuku-ji Buddhist temple next to it are a must-see. The museum was okay. The Isui-en Wisteria garden was okay too but it was too crowded because the flowers were in bloom. There are a number of restaurants and cafes on the street from the Nara Station to Nara Park.
Walking from Hotel Nikko/Nara Station to Nara Park and walking to all the attractions nearby was very tiring. So, I may recommend taking the bus on the way back, if possible. Also, it suddenly started raining in the afternoon and luckily, I had an umbrella with me.
I wished I had more time to see some of the other attractions outside of the Nara Park.

This was the most welcome I felt of our entire trip. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. If you could choose any hotel for your vacation this has to be the one because it will be your favorite. The food and staff were my favorites. The room was clean and comfy and they even had buckwheat pillows!

The best advice I can give is find where the biggest crowds are massed, all trying to impress deer with the same rice crackers that everyone else is trying to feed them, then pick a direction and walk away from them. There is so much more to the park: primeval forests, ancient stone pathways leading to temples and small villages older than most of our own countries, hidden pockets of lost time. It is hard to explain how it feels to not have another human being in sight, finding yourself passing stone idols carved by people hundreds of years ago, only to see a deer eating moss from the base of said idol that stops chewing to literally bow to you. Of course you bow back and scramble in your bag for some kind of treat to offer your new best friend (I recommend unsalted pretzel sticks, the deer hate plain rice crackers as much as we do at this point) and then having it gently eat from the palm of your hand, before you both again swap polite bows and go on your merry way. Then you hear a crow sing from the ancient forest behind you, and you just know: this is pretty cool.

Nice place, parks, plenty of temples, huge Buddha statues, a little ride by train and you can see the oldest still standing wooden building in the world!
And of course the deer! Feeding the deer with the deer cookies is fun and a little scary as they are quite bold and can pull and push you a bit.
Good food available as well.

There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out.
There’s a lot to see in Nara but it is quite spread out. Buses are easy to use though. Taxis can get busy - couldn’t get a booking.
There are two amazing restaurants at the bus station.
And there’s a seismic company building that is really interesting, and even has a great view from the top.
Comfortable, modern and spacious hotel and room in a central location a few minutes walk from Kintetsu Nara station. The hotel sits conveniently at the border between Nara Park with its great temples, and the area of shops and restaurants around the train station. It sits besides a busy road, but with the windows closed this is no bother at all and our stay was quiet and relaxed. We recommend the breakfast, both the Japanese and the Western options are great.
Staff were great, professional, very helpful and warm.
The hotel is very authentic. "The hotel has a charming vintage vibe, full of stories from years past. Our room, 'Fuju,' was spacious and incredibly comfortable. The staff were exceptional, and the location couldn't have been better—close to Nara Park and the station. While they didn't have washing machines on-site, there's a convenient facility just a 7-minute walk away. The onsen was a good experience to end your day with. Pluses, the hotel lobby has items for sale, good for last-minute suviners
We stayed only one night at Ryokan Kosen Kazeya Group and the location of the hotel is perfect, if you would like to explore Nara. The staff was so wonderful and the in-room Japanese breakfast was extensive and delicious! The hotel also has a public bath and other than we are used to in Japan, tattooed guests were welcome to use the bath as well. Don't let the interior of the hotel fool you; the hotel is outdated, but very well maintained and the rooms are spacious and well designed!
First off every single person working here is extremely polite and really makes you feel welcome. The Hotel is in a great location ~15 mins walk from Nara Station and slightly closer to Kintetsu-Nara station, very close to Nara Park and many other extremely beautiful spots. There are a lot of Cafés and Restaurants around. The room has a decent size, you get a Guide Book for Nara and some special green tea.
Location was great, very close to both Nara station and the Kintetsu Nara station, which are the main stations for arrival from Kyoto or Osaka.
Room was spacious and comfortable. We didn’t actually make use of the onsen but it was very popular and so I expect it was good! The midnight ramen offered was a nice touch also.
A 10/15 min walk to Nara park and plenty of restaurants and bars nearby also.
Aloha and Mahalo for the great staff and they were able to hold our luggage until it was time to check in.
The location was convenient and near a lot of places to eat and shop at. 7 eleven was 2 minutes away and the hotel even had a bar bakery and restaurant. The Deer park was just minutes away as well as the temples and shrines.
I would stay here again.

Super modern hotel that was still very comfortable to stay at. Loved that we were just a short walk to Nara Park and several other sight seeing spots. Plus close to great restaurants! The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was on the larger side. Check in and out was a very easy process, and staff held our luggage for us after we checked out.
The Nara Ryokan was really wonderful inn, very close to everything Nara has to offer with the luxury of time in the private onsen. We really needed a rest day after traveling throughout the region and enjoyed the proximity to restaurants as well as the train station, and Todai-ji. We would absolutely stay here again!
Worth for the value, convenience , very near of Kintetsu Nara station, when you go out the hotel, opposite have 東向商店街, food , restaurant and shopping all you can, when you go straight forward to the end of the mall, turn right you can go to 興福寺 and 猿沢池。
Even by walk only 15 minutes arrive Nara park
The location is great. You don’t even have to leave the train station as there is an attachment leading to the hotel. The hotel is lovely, staff very friendly and beds very comfortable. Distance to Nara park is not far and there is lots of shops and restaurants in walking distance.
Location adjacent to Nara station. You can check in and leave you luggage in the hotel, then start walking to Nara park where all main attractions are. Really great.
Around you can find restaurants, souvenir shops, cafes..
The hotel is well equipped, modern and clean.
It's probably one of the best hotels in Nara.
It's right beside the train station and a 15-minute walk from the park
The onsen was amazing and was open until midnight to relax after a big walking day.
The beds were super comfortable.
Great value for money..
It’s the feeling of staying in a 100 year old home and experience the Japanese style hotel. The location is very good and easy to locate from the station and near Nara park, it’s all walking distance. I’ve had the best experience in Nara in my stay. Thank you!
Great location, easy access to the JR line and walking distance to the park sites, kind staff, yummy breakfast, snacks and ramen at night, wonderful Onsen, tatami through out the hotel. Will definitely stay again and look for this hotel brand around Japan.
Loved the small private onsen looking out onto trees.
The location within Nara was perfect - a short walk to the parks (and deer) and also to several lovely temples, and some great restaurants.
The 4 of us fitted in the single room well enough.
Location of the hotel is excellent.. walking distance to Shin Omiya station (Kintetsu line), nearby to convenient store and Mi Nara mall. Staff are friendly and helpful, not all speaks English but overall experience with them is pleasant.
A lovely modern hotel which has all of the normal amenities and is decorated with a cosy design based on Nara. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from Nara station (not Kintetsu-Nara). There's an onsen available
Hotel has spa-like ambience: calm, quiet, serene. Location is great both for Nara Park and shopping. Cleaning staff was helpful in returning a lost article.
