Senhora da Guia Cascais Boutique Hotel, hotel in Cascais

Located between Cascais and Guincho Beach, the luxurious Senhora da Guia offers elegant accommodations in a green garden with pine trees and a salt-water pool.

The location of the hotel is excellent. All by itself on a beautiful stretch of beach. You can’t really see the ocean from the hotel though, but you can take a nice walk and be there in 5 mins. The rooms are scattered amongst a few buildings and it was very charming. There is a small spa with a warm pool and sauna and steam which was a nice perk. But you have to ask the staff to turn on for you and they were upstairs so that was mildly annoying. The outside pool was nice and while it was to cool to swim just laying in the sun felt good and I’m sure during the summer it is a very popular place. The breakfast was very nice but we had better in the smaller boutique hotels we stayed at. It was nice to sit on the balcony and enjoy it though.

FAQ about guest houses in Cascais

Laid-back Suburban Beach Resort

Cascais is a small city located on the outskirts of Lisbon. Once a fishing village and defence outpost, the royalty transformed it into a stylish summer resort. Mixing beautiful beaches, elegant mansions, imposing fortifications, and a wide variety of hotels, Cascais is a great option for every season.

King Luís II used the city as his summer residence from 1870 to 1908, attracting other celebrities, and changing the destiny of the tranquil village forever. Modern roads and railway lines linking to Lisbon and Sintra were built, as well as a casino and other facilities. Some of the best hotels and 5-star resorts in Cascais date back to these times.

Nowadays, the town is a cosmopolitan beach retreat along the Estoril Coast, where people from Lisbon and other Portugal cities come for a day or weekend escapade. Many foreign tourists prefer its more relaxed hotels over the sometimes hectic Lisbon atmosphere.

Don’t miss the Citadel, rebuilt during the 16th century in a typical star-shaped Renaissance style. Other attractions include the Museum of the Sea and the ‘Paula Rego House of Stories’.

Beach hotels are the gem of Cascais and you can find a wide range on Booking.com. Check your availability with enough time in advance, as the city remains a popular summer destination.

It's an amazing, vibrant city close to Lisbon. It has it's charm, felt very cozy, with nice people, beaches, coastal walks and other cities, such as Sintra nearby. We've also went to Cabo da Roca, the most western part of continental Europe and the views are spectacular!

Our initial plan was to stay 2n and move to the next town, but we stayed for extra 3n in Cascais. It's a lovely, very vibrant city full of various attractions, restaurants and nice people. We visited beaches, rented a bicycle. The city has very easy connection with Lisbon, about 45min train ride. You can feel there's a lot of wealth in the city, and the quality of stay here is very high. Highly recommended.

    I am very disappointed.

I am very disappointed. The apartment is nothing like the photos...old and smelly. Very low maintenance to the property. There was a mole at the bathroom and a lot of Flys at the bath and washroom. The smell was awful of some very harsh cleaning liquid mixed with mole smell. They just took a very poor condition apartment and painted everything in white but it is still old and smelly ...painted the mole as well but you could still see and smell it

    I love Cascais!

I love Cascais! There are many things to do here and nearby locations too. Great restaurants, shopping, beautiful parks, nature walks, cafes, museums, outdoor markets and not far from Cascais are the palaces of Sintra and even a Moorish castle. There is a train station in Cascais with trains that go directly into Lisbon in about 25 minutes. Without hesitation i recommend a visit to this beautiful city. I think you will love it too!

Location was very good as it is central to Cascais. Service was pretty good with lots of the staff being very attentive. Hotel externally was extremely impressive as it is the old citadel for the town right by the marina and has impressive views. The room did not have a sra view. Overall ir was the right place to stay but had a few negatives but it is more of a good 4 star hotel than a 5 star. We have stayed in a number of hotels elsewhere and this idod not give me the wow factor internally. But it is a unique setting externally.

The BCascais staff (Mara, Bruna, and Ricardo) were so welcoming and attentive! Mara went out of her way to ensure our baby boy had pancakes each morning and even had a table specially prepared for us with baby utensils and plates. She also made sure to relay this information to Bruna so she could also prepare in the same way for us! We LOVED the breakfast each morning, the smell of the entire hotel, and the location. The Loft room was perfect for our family as we felt like we had more than enough room for us and our active baby.

Casa Vela is a beautiful little hotel tucked away in a residential street just a few moments away from the city center of Cascais. The facilities are exceptionally well maintained and the garden out the back is a little oasis of tranquility. The staff were exceptionally attentive throughout our entire stay and were able to cater to any and every request we had, however big or small. I couldn’t recommend this hotel more, I will definitely be back.

The gardens and pool areas are beautiful. our room was perfect for a family of 4 and the staff were great. the best bit was the beautiful and peaceful neighbourhood with a 5 minute walk to a picturesque pedestrian street of restaurants and live music on weekends. The food was sensational. Hire an electric scooter and zip to the main town in 2 minutes or walk in 8. Fabulous stay before a few days in Lisbon.

Amazing hotel, good location, great facilities! Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom, new modern furniture, high speed WIFI, coffee-tea facilities and also great breakfast provided in the dining room! Highly recommended! The hotel is not too big and super cute in a nice little typical Portuguese street, only few steps from the train station. No noise from the street! Really the best option in Cascais!

Great hostel+ with a pool and relaxing atmosphere. The best hostel I've stayed at so far! We booked a large, separate room with all the facilities of a nice hotel room. We came from Lisbon to beat the worst of the summer heat and appreciated the efficient ceiling fan and the pool. The hostel caters to those who like new experiences and meeting new people. It is located a short walk from the beach.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Estalagen. It was so unique and everywhere you looked was gorgeous. The restaurant was delicious, the rooms were perfect with a breathtaking sea view, and the location was perfect and right in the beach. There are so many options around for food and drink. You might not want to go far from the hotel as it is a paradise in itself. Highly recommend!
