The hotel is situated close to the city center, and it's only a 15-minute walk away. It's also easy to find parking near the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Although the room is basic, it has all the necessary amenities, and it's quite spacious. However, despite the pictures showing a balcony, our room didn't have one.
Offering an outdoor pool and an indoor pool, Pousada da Serra da Estrela is located in Covilhã. Featuring panoramic views of the surrounding landscape this hotel provides free WiFi access.

Modern, comfortable hotel with parking to the side and rear. Room size is reasonable but adequate. Breakfast is excellent. However, there is no restaurant. Dinner is available at a sister hotel (Dona Maria) 300m away. The Serra Shopping Centre is also close by.
Located just a 10-minute drive from Serra da Estrela Ski Resort, the Luna Hotel Serra da Estrela provides a ski school and year-round outdoor sporting activities.

The Hotel is great, calm and quiet Staff is friendly and supportive. Great breakfast. Good location to explore Serra da Estrela.

Located just 18 km from Parque Natural Serra da Estrela, Paço 100 Pressa features accommodation in Covilhã with access to a bar, a shared lounge, as well as a housekeeping service.
An amazing small city located on a mountain. The city is separated into an older part and a more modern part which is located at the lowest part of the mountain. The city has a plethora of murals and street art and you can download a dedicated application where you can find where all the murals are located and have a self-tour. The old part of town has amazing buildings and you can get lost by walking in the small traditional streets. The restaurants are of high quality and all the food we tasted was simply amazing. I will definitely be coming back :)

Unfortunately when we were there for a 3 night stay the weather was poor on two of the days so I might say the stay was too long. Didn't visit the city at the base of the mountain. The village where the chalets are situated was very quiet with not much going on, we spent most of the spare time in the hotel which was nice.

The Pousada is perfect for a relaxing break.
The Pousada is perfect for a relaxing break. The views are incredible. The service is very good, made to feel welcome. You need to drive back down the mountain for restaurants etc but the Pousada has everything you want. The air is fresh and all you can hear are the birds, superb.

A great city to use as a base to visit nearby mountains and go hiking. Also, if it's the right season for cherries, head to the market and get some. This area is home to the famous Cerejas da Gardunha you see in every supermarket in Portugal :)

O’Serrano de Repleto de Magia was fantastic for dinner!!! Covilha otherwise is a lovely, slightly sleep city in the off season filled with very friendly talkative locals. Free parking at the city square until December 2020 so that was great!

Very friendly people.
Very friendly people.
Usually we used to eat at the mall, but since it was locked down (it reopened monday the 1st June) this time we tried the pizzeria just in front of the mall and it had nice pasta and pizza.
We had lunch too at Manteigas, and it was great.
Yes, it is easy to get around Covilhã.
It’s a true tiny nest with the most spectacular view over Covilhã, an oasis of tranquility amidst ancient vineyards and crop fields. The propriety is large and comfortable and curated to the detail.
The owners are amazingly welcoming, their dogs and horses are a charm and cutes as buttons and everything is perfect- from warm towels available and a comfortable temperature upon arrival, a basket of freshly picked apples to snack, and a pristine home with few nice touches of charm, original art, and every possible comfort one can hope for.
Spacious rooms and good sound proofing in hallways. Excellent and very broad breakfast choices.
Dinner is good value for money as well, for a hotel restaurant plenty of choices to pick from.
Would definitely stay here again when I’m in the area .
There is also a large Lidl next door where you can buy fresh pastries, bread and other essentials.
Other than the lidl there is nothing around the hotel (but I knew that beforehand). So don’t expect this hotel to be in the center of covilha :-)
We felt like home. It very was clean, tidy, pretty enough even for 4 people, and ready to stay. Silent, peaceful, and full of utensils. Not need to bring anything, self care products were ready too: shampoo, towels, ...The iron was really good. We love every morning to see the beautiful mountain view. The owner was very helpful also. Close to UBI buildings and attractions in the city. If we visit Covilha again, we would love to stay in Altavista. Thank you so much🙏
Even better than described, tidy and comfortable, with lots light and plenty of moving space, and a beautiful mix of vintage and newer furniture that work perfectly together. The Wi-Fi was good enough to work and join Zoom meetings without issue, and the beauty of the location in the middle of the old town can’t be beaten. The lovely host is ready to help and respond to any queries. Amazing stay, I would recommend anyone heading to Covilhã to give them a try!
We stayed at this hotel en route from the ferry port at Santander to Portugal. It therefore suited us perfectly that it is located very close to the motorway junction. We were warmly welcomed by the owner, and dinner in the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. We were the only guests at both the hotel and the restaurant, and consequently we were very well looked after, and had a very good bespoke breakfast which we had ordered when we arrived.
Both the owners and staff are very friendly and available, and made us feel at home.
The rooms are spacious and very comfortable - despite the cold outside, the rooms and the main house are very cozy.
We loved the animals, my kids loved Ursinha and Tobias the most.
The food is homemade and delicious, the kids rated it 10/10.
It’s a ten minute drive to Covilhã, and 30/40min drive to Torre, and still very a very quiet place to relax.
Highly recommended, great place to stay. Perfect family house, very clean and comfortable
, highly equipped, modern, bright, great value for money, plenty of space. Nice view of mountains from the balcony. Easily approachable to all the amenities of Covilha city. Very helpful host, promptly responded to any questions. Definitely staying there again. There is nothing to not like about this place :-)
location is good though a little at the outskirts of town. for us it was perfect and planned in advance for hiking at the area.
we were upgraded which was nice.
the building is rebuilt over the ruins of a conservation house.
staff was extremely helpful and provided advise and trails for hikes .
dinner at the hotel is great and breakfast too.
All the staff were really helpful, the restaurant had amazing food not just for breakfast, but for lunch and dinner as well. The pool was big enough for everyone who wanted to enjoy it, and the jacuzzi made it even more special. The hotel is good for children and has space for play and music shows every night.
Easy to find on main road into town. Lots of free parking. Most of staff very pleasant and helpful just one young man on reception was a bit off hand. Our room was spacious but could do with better soundproofing both from traffic and other guests. We had a very nice 4 course meal
(16€) in hotel restaurant.
At the edge of Serra da Estrela, with lovely surroundings. We stayed in low season, so the price was very reasonable and a great value for the quality of the hotel. There’s a heated pool. A really nice buffet breakfast. A nice room, very clean, nice warm shower, a bidet, an extra room if you are three people.
The hotel, its location, and the views are beautiful. The room was spacious, simply but well-appointed, and clean. The personnel was very professional, friendly and attentive, and the food (breakfast and dinner) excellent. We will certainly return.
Location was fantastic, especially the views. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen adequately supplied. It even had a coffee bean grinder. Pool at hotel was nice but costly.
Nicely appointed hotel with spa indoor and outdoor pools, secure parking for motorcycles. Short walk into town for excellent meal as recommended by host.
