Selina Rio har en solterrass med stadsutsikt och ligger i det trendiga området Lapa i Rio de Janeiro, 200 meter från Santa Teresa. Här finns en trevlig restaurang och ett kafé. Det var ett fint hostel, vi bodde i tvåbäddsrum men kunde nyttja de faciliteter som finns på ett hostel, såsom kök, bar, möjlighet att träffa andra etc. Det bjöds på välkommen drink varje kväll och det var roligt att möta andra resenärer. Rummen var fräscha och det blev förvånandsvärt tyst på natten.

Casa Nova Hotel ligger i den trendiga stadsdelen Lapa i centrala Rio de Janeiro, 10 km från kristusstatyn Cristo Redentor. På hotellet finns en bar. Alla rum har en 40-tums Smart-TV med plattskärm. The location is perfect, just in the middle of Lapa's interesting life, good supermarkets, restaurants, music-samba, very nice, old houses around (unfortunately many in bad condition, but they have charm), the aqueduct just 5 minutes on foot, center, cathedral, metro, tram and Selaron steps (so Santa Teresa) 10 minutes on foot, plenty of buses nearby. Flamengo beach and good weekend market 15 on foot. Nice rooftop with pool and view over Santa Teresa e.g. Of course you will see here homeless people too like in any other country's big cities, but I traveled alone as a woman and I felt safe (I am not a brave type). Anyway, you will see policemen at many corners in Brazil. After this hotel in Lapa I stayed in Copacabana/Ipanema area for some nights and I think was a really good idea this kind of split between locations. Breakfast was great. The room was big with comfortable bed. The street was noise, but you are in the center area... I could sleep well by open window. I didn't use the air-condition (It was summer, but for me the temperature was good without ac), but I tried once and seemed a little bit loud. (As far as I know that is a common problem in Brazil.) The senior man with glasses at the reception (unfortunately I don't know his name) was really professional and friendly.

She should be definitely promoted to a manager with her perfect English and excellent manners and brilliant hospitality - one of the few hotels in Rio where as a traveler without Portuguese language I felt understood and my requests were taken care of - break’s was great - room was clean and comfortable with a nice view

Prodigy Hotel Santos Dumont ligger i anslutning till flygplatsen Santos Dumont i Rio de Janeiro, bara 900 meter från Baía de Guanabara. Här erbjuds gratis WiFi i alla utrymmen. Amazing location at the entrance to the airport The views are amazing. Especially on the pool on the roof. You can see both Jesus and the sugar loaf in front of you. Very good breakfast and lunch.

Vila Gale ligger mitt i i Rio de Janeiros centrum. Här finns en utomhuspool. Hotellet har ett komplett hälsocenter, och det finns också en restaurang och bar. Gratis WiFi finns också. Vila Galé doesn't disappoint you. From the moment you arrive, you are treated with respect and that warm welcome to Rio. This is our second visit. We chose the renovated antique rooms, high ceilings, with "garden view". Some on the first floor, so do bear in mind there are steps to carry your case up, or if a senior, this because lots of Cruise passengers choose to stay here, close to the port terminal of Mauá. Perhaps choose the modern rooms with lift access would suit better. The breakfast is excellent! Airy place, plenty of tables and food Brazilian breakfast to it's best. To pass the time, the picturesque swimming pool is not only a picture perfect but also warm to swim and catch a bit of sun by the umbrellas, whilst getting the waiter to bring you some refreshments. There's a small shop selling women's "light clothes" with Brazilian fabrics and bright flowers and colours. Check in is 3pm but they can store your bags, also on departure, as check our midday. Nothing is too small to please customers. I really recommend here. And we had dinner as well, not included in the rates, but not disappointed either. A brilliant chef coming up with a simple but delicious menu. The area didn't disappoint. A barber opposite, chemists and 3 big supermarkets (turn right from the reception around 15 min walk. One interesting thing was to find that the supermarkets are cash only or pix payments that I don't have a clue what it is. I just want to point out that the location of the hotel is excellent to explore Rio, walking out catching that Uber to Sugar Loaf is as easy as close. A big thank you to the manager, that made me feel at home. If you arrive very early, and they have rooms available, you can go to your room but will pay 1/3 of the rate. It was a saving grace for us as we don't sleep on planes. And the breakfast (not that we were hungry, was good to have a bowl of fruit and tea then crash in bed. Worth asking.

Hotel Carioca ligger i distriktet Lapa i Rio de Janeiro, 6 minuters bilresa från flygplatsen Santos Dumont. WiFi är gratis. Arcos da Lapa ligger 500 meter bort. They were all so helpful and sweet and the hotel is good located close to everything.

Detta hotell ligger 2 km från Rio de Janeiros kommersiella centrum och 3 km från Flamengo-stranden. Restaurangen serverar en daglig frukostbuffé. Location is awesome, Saturdays can be light due to the weekend movida but also cool because out of the fire you have the Rio nightlife. Breakfast is awesome.

Américas Granada Hotel ligger i Rio de Janeiro och har en restaurang, en utomhuspool, ett fitnesscenter och en bar. Receptionen är öppen dygnet runt och rumsservice samt gratis WiFi erbjuds. The hotel staff are enthusiastic and able to solve problems in a timely manner. Breakfast was great. The hotel is located in the center of the old town, not far from surrounding attractions. It is worthy of tourists reference choice.
