Built in the 1800’s as a private residence for the harbour master, this beautifully restored building, situated in the V&A Waterfront, is home to one of Cape Town’s most exclusive boutique hotels. Our stay at the Dockhouse was in one word fantastic, beautiful house, very nice environment and all the staff were really so nice and helpful, really a very special place, definitely recommended and the nicest place in Cape Town. The location was amazing and it was a convenient walk away from everything on V&A waterfront. Their service was great as well and from the time we checked in - we felt very welcome. The team at the reception, the servers who helped us at the restaurant and the bell captains all recognised us throughout our stay and made an effort to keep us comfortable. Housekeeping did a great job too. We extended our stay at the hotel by a day to explore capetown more. Also - our biggest worry was loadshedding before our trip (especially because we were travelling with young kids). The hotel worked beautifully on generators and everything was powered through that.

The entire staff was so welcoming and helpful. I was sad to leave them. Llewelyn was especially great, as was the bartender No More. I world like to again say thank you to them snd to everyone else!
