Located in Bowness-on-Windermere in the Cumbria region, The White House is a 5-star property featuring free WiFi. Beautiful property. Easy to find. Close to shops and restaurants. Clean . A lot of effort has gone into this property and it shows. We stayed in room 12. Absolutely beautiful. We are staying here again this weekend.

Overlooking picturesque hills, Meadowcroft Country Guesthouse is a family-run guest house in the tranquil Village of Ings, 2 miles from Windermere. There is free Wi-Fi in the bedrooms. This was one of our favorite stops on our recent trip. We all agreed, the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and the rest of the amenities were great. Elliott was a great host - giving us some advice about our next stop. Breakfast was delicious. With a pub within walking distance we couldn't ask for a better location.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. The staff managing the check-in and the breakfast was outstanding - warm, efficient and thoughtful. Breakfast was tasty, warm and filling and had good options. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was large and spacious. Good strong shower and sufficient supply of hot water. The room was bright and clean.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels. It was really clean, and very cute!

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking. 10 minutes walk from the lake, very cosy lounge where you can drink wine, relax and discuss your daily experience. Very quite area and hotel. I have slept much better than in busy London. Hosts prepared wonderful breakfast that was dreaming about the whole day!

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. Wonderfully quirky little B and B. A very comfortable room with enough bedroom space. Loved the claw bath, this was in the bedroom, I loved this but some may not. The staff were friendly and welcoming. This little place was the perfect walking distance to Bowness for restaurants and Windermere for shopping.

Craig Walk Suite is set in Bowness-on-Windermere, 38 km from Derwentwater, 43 km from Askham Hall, as well as 50 km from Trough of Bowland. Large room with kitchen. Loved having cold water in the fridge as well as welcome cookies, coffee and teas.

The Old Rectory features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Coniston, 18 km from Lake Windermere. Michael and Ann where the perfect hosts . Nothing was too much trouble and would meet your every need. Anne even had a birthday cake for my wife's birthday! Michael even let me try his favourite gin at breakfast! A lovely quiet calm to the house as a whole with a large bright dining room used for breakfast with wonderful view.

Set in Dearham, 26 km from Buttermere, The Old Mill Inn offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Very clean and spacious, attractive room, huge comfortable bed with good quality bed linen, big TV, spacious bathroom, large shower cubicle and great towels, first meal in the restaurant was delicious (beef bourguignon), good local ale at a reasonable price, breakfast was mixed but full English was very good. Dark haired lady on duty on our first night was lovely, friendly and very professional (apologies for not having a name). Contact via the app was good and the code access worked well. We enjoyed our stay.

Set in Keswick and only 5.8 km from Derwentwater, Dalegarth Guesthouse Portinscale offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. An absolute little gem of a place!! Well where to start.. when I say this is an absolute little gem I really mean it, and that is all down to Clare and Craig who run the place to absolute perfection! They really put everything into making sure that their guests are well looked after and that nothing is too much trouble. Firstly, ahead of arrival, you get a link to a web page (the guidebook) with all the information on that you could possibly need during your stay; from check in and out procedures, to local information on eating out, car parking, walking, shopping, activities, to everything and anything else in-between! I loved this! The area is beautiful, with gorgeous views from the house and the village is so peaceful. Just far enough away from Keswick but close enough to get to easily and enjoy the town. We really love Keswick anyway, and Derwentwater too, so the location is just perfect for us! On arrival we were met by Craig who directed us to our parking spot and offered us help with our bags if it was needed. We then headed around to the house and met Clare, whom showed us around. There's a lovely lounge area to relax in, and a bar where you can get a drink on an evening if you wish to. There is tea and coffee in each room with UHT milks, but what I loved was that fresh milk is available as needed too - you just take a little jug to your room from the milk in the fridge! There's also other drinks like hot chocolate, fruit teas, decaf drinks here to help yourself to. The room was lovely and really clean, with comfortable beds too. Smart TV in the room and free WIFI access were a bonus, although we didn't waste much time with technology! If you want any advice or tips on where to go or what to do, don't hesitate to ask Craig - he's full of information and more than happy to help! Clare's cooking skills are amazing too! Her flapjack is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts - set us up well for our days out!
