With our stylish and spacious apartment "Am Rheinorange" we want to offer our guests living comfort in the Ruhr area. Our house is located in the middle of the harbour and creative district Duisburg-Ruhrort, within walking distance to the Rhine. The tasteful and loving decor reflects the passion of the landlords setting up a place to feel good! The spacious ground floor apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a Smeg refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, kettle and all the trimmings. In the cozy and quiet bedroom you will find a double bed (1,60m x 2,00m) and an antique, refurbished wardrobe. The view of the Ruhrort typical backyard is particularly romantic, especially in summer. The living and dining room offers a third sleeping possibility on a sofa bed and a TV corner with cuddly pillows and blankets. The decor is a stylish mix of vintage and designer furniture. The newly renovated bathroom has a bath with shower facilities and you will find a hairdryer and towels. The apartment has a beautiful renovated old plank floor.
We are Iris and Michael Hollmann and are looking forward to providing you a relaxing and inspiring stay in the middle of the harbor district of Duisburg. Iris has been running the YogaPrema yoga studio for many years, which is also in the house. For our guests, of course, there is the possibility to attend yoga and/or meditation classes during their stay in our house. Michael is the owner of KultKiosk Hafenmund in our neighborhood. Here cultural events take place. For example, the "Tag der Trinkhallen", the Ruhrort Harbor Festival with the "Art and Culture Market" and you can taste Schimmi's Currywurst or other delicacies here. The couple can recommend you many tips and addresses for an exciting inspiring visit to the Ruhrgebiet (Ruhr area)!
Ruhrort is the place where the Rhine and Ruhr converge. The Rheinorange, the name bearer of our apartment, is a 25-meter-high steel sculpture at the mouth of the Rhine kilometer 780. The sculpture is part of the route of industrial cultures and here ends the 230 km long Ruhr Valley Cycle Route and the "Tortour de Ruhr", the Germany's longest ultramarathon. Next to it the five-meter-high Poseidon looks up at the ships moving up the Rhine. Probably the most famous Ruhrorts are the industrialist Franz Haniel and the crime scene commissar Schimanski (Schimmi). Schimmi tours to the most famous locations take place regularly. Ruhrort is a creative district and of course many art events and concerts take place in our "Kiez". Another highlight is of course a harbor cruise through the largest inland port in Europe! Also, the nearby landscaped park is worth a visit as well as the Niederrhein Therme or the casino and the theater in the city. It is also worth visiting the Niederrhein as well as the chic fashion city Düsseldorf.
