Hotel information

This building is a former palace of the S. XVIII, it has since been completely and carefully refurbished to maintain the original architecture and decoration of the building, for example the inside frescos of the walls, the principal stairs and the moldings.
The hotel has one cafeteria and 2 lounges on the first floor with large windows for a unique view (these two rooms are located in the old ball room of the palace with a capacity for up to 120 people).

Food & beverage

The restaurant is open 20:00 – 22:45 for dinner and serves international dishes.

Room information

There is 65 rooms, 8 are junior suites and 2 are suites with a living room.
Each room has been decorated to offer you a charming and warm atmosphere.
All the suites are different, and all conserve the magnificent paintings in the ceiling.

Area information

Opened in January 2006, the Catalonia Las Cortes is located in the historic heart of Madrid, in the well know district Barrio de Las Letras, just a few steps of Plaza Santa Ana.
The location is ideal to visit the principal tourist sites of the city, including Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Museo del Prado and Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, or to do some shopping in the famous street, Puerta del Sol.

We had a wonderful suite in classic design. The location in the city was excellent.

Less services in the hotel, like bar and food in the room.

persistent smell of detergents in room; when having breakfast at 7:45 mixed fruit plait run out - no replenishing was possible they said

Hotel renewed in 2006, keeping part of historical building. Very large room and bathroom. Nice furniture and comfort. 50 mt from Plaza Santa Ana. Good location for museums and nightlife. Overall rate "8.1".

One girl at the reception is not making at all her duties. She appears bored at the check-in and is no guest oriented. Clients passing in front are just "transparent". Hotel management should improve this. New air conditioning system little noisy (as probably too powerful). Some noise of water from room upper floor in the morning (shower). Calle del Prado is not really an "Avenida".

excellent position at the heart of Madrid, about 50m from Plaza Santa Ana, great and friendly staff, very clean and beautifully decorated room.

the room adapted for wheelchair users and the doors to the room and bathroom were not very big, manoeuvring is ok for a small wheelchair but could be harder to do for a bigger one.

Clearing away breakfast buffet 5 minutes after seating us, without telling us there was only 5 minutes left.

Location, location, location. It is just perfect. Staff is good as well.

Maybe a bit more choice for breakfast? I know Spanish people go for breakfast in the nearest bar, but as a tourist you might think of taking breakfast at hotel. Also, I've got room with discount price, and that was good price. Without discount I'd think twice.

La habitación excelente, con una cama de matrimonio comodísima y enorme, el baño en mármol verde, precioso y la ducha estupenda. Llamé el día de mi llegada para confirmar la reserva y la persona que me atendió, encantadora, me asignó la habitación cumpliendo las preferencias que había solicitado en la reserva. El hotel es muy tranquilo, con un aislamiento acústico perfecto y a un paso de todo.

La decoración de la entrada y de la zona del bar podría ser más moderna y acogedora, por ejemplo unas alfombras le irían estupendamente.
