This luxurious hotel is set in a magnificent 18th-century building in the historic centre of Madrid, a few minutes from Puerta del Sol.

The Catalonia Moratin’s privileged central location makes it ideal for visiting nearby sights such as Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. The 3 internationally-important art galleries are all a short walk from the hotel, and the bustling central square of Puerta del Sol is just 50 metres away. In addition, the Atocha AVE (high-speed) trian station is just 1 km from the hotel.

The hotel has been comprehensively but sensitively renovated, and today it retains a number of beautiful and well-preserved original features. Together with the superb location and excellent facilities, this makes the hotel a great choice for visiting Madrid.

Hotel information

The hotel is located in a magnificent building of the S. XVIII, and is part of the historic buildings of the city of Madrid.
The hotel Cataloñia Moratín was opened in 2002 and has been completely refurbished, whilst keeping the important characteristics of the past as the classic facade; the principal stairs made of wood and decorated by a marble lion and the great ornamented entrance of capitals and medallions.
The features of the hotel are a friendly cafe- bar with views over the yard, a living room where you can relax or read your favourite book, a restaurant that provides international food in a modern environment and a conference room with natural light.

Room information

The 63 rooms are located around a traditional Spanish interior courtyard which is decorated with galvanized iron grilles and glass ceiling. The rooms are decorated in light colours that contrast with the red of the curtains, bedcovers and wooden furniture.

Area information

The hotel is located in the centre of the capital a few steps from Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor, and also near the museums Prado, Thyssen Bornemizsa and Reina Sofia.

Hotel close to metro & easy to locate. Fantastic location, easy to walk to all areas and lovely bars & restaurants nearby. Hotel Very modern & clean and staff friendly & efficient.

Only small draw back was no complimentry safe in room, had to pay.

Het hotel heeft een perfecte ligging dus alle bezienswaardigheid zijn op loopafstand bereikbaar. Daarnaast ga je de hoek om en daar tref je allerlei restaurantjes en barretjes aan.

Het hotel heeft een ongezellige bar. Het personeel neemt niet zelf het initiatief om informatie over de omgeving te verstrekken zoals bv. Gelijk een stadsplan uitreiken of dat soort zaken.
