This hotel dominates the area known as Royal Madrid, in the city’s heart, close to Plaza de España and the Royal Palace.

Set in a tower renovated in 2008, the Meliá Madrid Princesa provides a chic venue for your trip to the Spanish capital. When not seeing the sights you can enjoy a session in its gym. There is also a spa to help you relax during your stay and an indoor swimming pool (use at an additional cost). In the evenings, try some of the innovative Mediterranean cuisine served in the new hotel restaurant, Uno By Dani Garcia.

Many impressive sights of central Madrid are within a short walk of the hotel. Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, two of the city’s focal points, are both within a 20-minute stroll of the property.

- A restaurant managed by Dani Garcia, who was prized with one Michelin star award. In the Restaurant Uno, you will enjoy a great selection of mediterranean dishes. Opens from 13:00 until 16:00 hours and from 20:30 until 23:00 hours.

In addition to the facilities already mentioned, all rooms come with luxurious Dreamax beds. All were refurbished in early 2008 and come with televisions showing over 40 different international channels in 8 languages.

Area information

Walking distance from the Plaza de España, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and the most important monuments and museums, such as the Prado. The International Airport of Barajas (13 km) and the Trade Fair Juan Carlos I are easily accessible via metro. The nearest stop, Argüelles, is close to the hotel. Other well communicated, nearby points of interest are the city of Toledo (60 km), El Escorial (45 km) and Segovia (78 km).

Nice rooms, good location, delicious breakfast.

At 180€ per night the room, having to pay extra (15€ ) to use the indoor piscine is just a joke. Reception staff could use a smile sometimes.

We are frequent travelers worlwide. We normally stay at the Inter-Continental hotels group. The price per room at Melia was higher than Intercontinental and the brand /room/facilities can't compare. Brand it's overpriced.

Sometimes the room service is slow. Could do with more staff at the ground floor bar. Had to wait 10 minutes for a drink.

The room was nice.

Although listed as 5* and recently refurbished, it was nothing like any other 5* hotel I had ever stayed in and actually the quality of the finish and the breakfast was more reminiscent of a 3* hotel. I had to complain and the result was that I got a big discount . The hotel staff tried their best to make it right, but within the confines of what this hotel has to offer, it was difficult for them.

The air conditioning in the room did not work;they told us it was out of order. The room did not have a thermostat- temeperature was too high and had to open a window to sleep.Sound insulation was poor- could hear noise from traffic on the street

it was very clean spotless

the hotel has a pool but they charge you 15euros per person to use it, it is not included in the room price, even though we paid 165euros for the room, there was a extre charge of 30 euros for two of us to use the pool, which was quite small, most if not all spanish people love children, but not at this hotel, recieption staff look down on you if you arrive with children, hotel prices were a joke,
