We are looking forward to returning to Rinconcito Lodge! The whole place is comfortable, we liked our junior mountain suite very much, the staff friendly and helpful, food is very good with an easy-going schedule so we only ate two meals a day, perfect for us. The nesting colony of montezuma oropendola birds at the entrance is amazing! Westayed 4 nights And I’m glad we did. This allowed us to rest one day, then took the combo tour on our second day - Horseback ride into the Santa Maria part of the park, wonderful fun and private uncrowded zip line tour with our guides Jose and Ronald, and continued further into the park on horse guided by Terencio who took us deeper into the park eventually on foot to the warm springs river and waited very patiently while we had lunch there and enjoyed the warm waters. he even helped us with the mud. our third day we drove ourselves into the Pailas sector of the park and did our own hiking tour. Rinconcito is a peaceful place with no pressure. as far as we can tell the rooms are all very nice with a range of qualities from smaller rooms close together to the more separate mountain suites that we stayed in. oh a great trail on the property to a waterfall we swam under too.

Santa Maria Volcano Lodge offers pet-friendly accommodations. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. The staff were so friendly and accommodating! We arrived at 6pm and wanted dinner, and they offered to bring the dinner to our cabin. We loved the rustic atmosphere, with displays of traditional farming tools that the owner family used. Coffee was served with freshly squeezed milk and homemade cheese. The cabins were beautiful with enormous windows that had views of beautiful plants, trees, and flowers.

With Parque Nacional Santa Rosa reachable in 30 miles, Hotel Rincón de la Vieja Lodge has accommodations, a restaurant, a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. Loved the staff and the lodge environment. Very pretty , felt right where we wanted to be. Will come back for sure

Hacienda Guachipelin Volcano Ranch Hotel & Hot Springs is located at the foot of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, in north-west Costa Rica. A really well maintained property with extensive leisure and dining options. Great choice of food at the breakfast buffet the staff were friendly and helpful. We wish we had booked for longer.

Located in the beautiful countryside near Rincon de la Vieja National Park, Casa Rural Aroma de Campo is a quaint B&B with on-site natural springs and a kitchen serving delicious Costa Rican cuisine. The owners were friendly and super helpful. The meals were great. The room was spacious and super clean. The backyard was so beautiful and relaxing.

Located in Guayabos, Pochote Lodge has free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The host Francisco is so friendly and great to chat with (in spanish). Our rental car could not make it up the road as its quite steep and has loose gravel (we had a 2WD geely gx3) but Francisco very kindly offered to leave our car in the parking lot of a nearby gated hotel and he drove us up and back down the next morning. The breakfast was traditional costa rican and very well made. The property was pretty and we saw keel billed toucans in the morning. The beds were comfortable, there was a small kitchen we could use and everything was very clean. Would recommend!
