There were larger sitting areas with big lounge chairs on 2 levels which all could use. Under trees looking over the sea. Fabulous breakfast which you choose the night before! Loved it. Close to the Akrotiri Archeological Museum and site. Could walk to Red beach, and 5 or 6 taverns right on the water, only a block away. Great food. From the wharf you could do a boat trip which drops you to the Black and White beaches. They cone by every 1/2 hour so you can stay as long as you like and go to another spot. We loved it. We walked into the village in the late afternoon... about 20 minutes. Then we strolled the streets looking for the sunset, Great place. Loved it.

Naxos is understated and not very well marketed or known. However it is the best kept secret, located in between Mykonos and Santorini it is the biggest island in the Cyclades and is the best. Busy town centre with a harbour and port, lot's of restaurants and an old town with a labyrinth of restaurants and shops, plenty of fantastic beaches and clean calm sea. Further a field their are the mountains with fantastic views. Naxos is busy but not too commercialised and represents good value for money. Go and see for your self.
So much more picturesque and real than expected. Filled with locals or Greek tourists, old school Cyclades town on a cliff, with several beautiful town squares with many taverns that spill onto the squares. Food and drinks great, it's like Santorini without the crowds or overpriced spots. It's perfect for those looking for something more authentic yet beautiful. Warning though = definitely take cash out before you go to the island. Many places take card but many don't as well, there are only 2 ATM's (and no banks) on the entire island, which means they often run out of cash. Being a laid-back island, these ATM's often don't get fixed or replenished for days. We ran out of cash early and had to wait days for the ATM's to get fixed, we were fine with our cards but it'd be easier to get into most places if we had the cash. Other than that - GRAND!
Mykonos was beautiful. If you are in the Cyclades you must stop at Mykonos, the water was crystal clear, and the port and harbors were picturesque. The food was phenomenal. You have to visit the archaeological site, Delos.
Representative Cycladic Greek island. One of the most beautiful "chora" (NB main town in a greek island) in the complex of greek islands called Cyclades
Ios Island is greater besides the other islands of Cyclades. There are great beaches, like Mylopotas, Kalamos, Psathi. Awesome restaurants and you have to eat at Katogi and Lord Byron at Chora of Ios and greek souvlaki at Peri Anemon restaurant. Finally there also many traditional local stuff, like honey, different types of cheese and wine, that are must for any visitor.
Lovely family beach with friendly tavernas and beautiful clear clean water. Easy to walk to neighbouring beaches along the coastal boardwalk. We loved the sandy beaches of Naxos in comparison with some of the other islands in the Cyclades.
Oia is the jewel of the Cyclades! This beautiful whitewashed village with its blue domed churches overlooking the caldera is magnificent. Early morning and late evening are the times to explore the pedestrian-only narrow pathways. Excellent coffee and pastry shops are abundant as are restaurants offering local specialities.
Unspoilt rustic Andros is a hidden gem in The Cyclades. The locals were helpful and friendly. Very beautiful and picturesque. Beaches restaurants bars and culture. Andros had it all.
Santorini is a hot volcano! It's very packed and totally touristy! I guess it is a unique place to see. I would recommend two or three nights maximum. It's not a beach island and in no way has it any greenery. For me, the Cyclades are about beaches! Imerovigli is the nicest town on Santorini.
Beautiful island without tons of tourists. Authentic food, small to no crowds, friendly and helpful locals. Peaceful and unspoiled. Must walk the island by foot or bike to see the stunning cliffs, caves, beaches and Devils Eye. It’s a must stop for anyone island hopping in the Cyclades.
Ermoupoli
This was a stopover for us en route to Athens. This hotel is absolutely superb, beautiful rooms with a balcony overlooking the main square, so well renovated, high ceiling and all mod cons. The two front of house personnel were outstanding, great communications in advance of our trip and super helpful at all times. Really well located to explore the town and for the port. This felt like a very sophisticated town by comparison to the remote Cyclades islands we had visited, loved it here. Proximity to the beach was a plus too.
Tourlos
Where to start! We chose this hotel for it's proximity to port/airport which proved to be a good choice. Nothing seemed to much trouble from our collection at the airport, a friendly but efficient check-in (much appreciated after a flight). The room was both spacious and spotless. Plenty of towels and a great shower, a comfy bed (big). One of the best breakfasts we've had in the Cyclades, loved the orange cake and to top it off a lift to the port without prompting. All very friendly 😊
This hotel is a gem on the island! We absolutely loved it! The room was beautiful and very clean (they change towels every day), the staff was very helpful and nice - Ioanna is a lovely host. The bakery next to the hotel is the perfect place for breakfast and snacks because the food is absolutely delicious. When we arrived we found some snacks and drinks in the room for us which is a very nice detail. We absolutely recommend this place and I can say it is my favourite hotel in the Cyclades.
Kamares
Sifnos was our favourite island during our Cyclades tour and this hotel was perfect for it! The room had a big balcony with exceptional view to Sifnos port/beach. It was all new or newly redone and very clean. It had everything we needed and was at a very easily accessible part of the city. I could only recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, calm and clean place.
Drios
Betty Apartments was a quiet and very pleasant place, yet still close to several good restaurants. We received an extensive guide of things to do in Paros, with detailed maps. It's about 20 minutes walking to Golden Beach, where you can find two windsurfing centres. An excellent experience overall, and the highlight of our two week trip to the Cyclades.
- Outstanding caring, thoughtful, smiling staff (Nicolas, Nikos …), not so common in the Cyclades during summer even in luxury hotels ! - beautiful hotel with splendid views over Elia beach - Very pleasant rooms, decorated with taste (yet neutral) - great pool, very clean, salted water - good breakfast/good products quality - welcome cake and fruits
Aegiali
Gryspo's is the place to be on Amorgos, and Amorgos is the place to be in the Cyclades! Fabulous hotel, close to a great beach, in the fun little town of Aegiali, chill and lively at the same time, great hikes up to the hill towns and across the island. Highly, highly recommended! Thank you Yannis and Dora for a great stay - hope to come back!
Ios Chora
This hotel is a gem in the Cyclades. We were treated so well by the staff who are so genuine and kind. The hotel is breathtaking standing above the harbour with the most spectacular views. We stayed in the Liostasi suite and also the superior suite both utterly luxurious . The breakfast is amazing. Stay here if you can .
Ios Chora
Great buffet breakfast, in a perfect hotel away from the hustle and bustle of chora (although easy to get a busy too)! The staff were so friendly and even got me a cake as it was my birthday during the stay. Would definitely stay again if coming back to Ios (favourite island that we visited in the Cyclades)
the hotel was idyllic Cyclades. it was decorated with beautiful pots, landscaped, freshly painted, large pool amd most of all, the breathtaking sunsets. every night, we would meet other guests at the bar and watch the sunset. the breakfast buffet never disappointed and staff were fabulous, kind amd helpful.
Matt the owner of this lovely hotel is the sweetest guy, very helpful and friendly. The hotel's design looks like the authentic greek houses of the cyclades and the location is great just near a bus station and far enough from the city to have some quiet. The breakfast is varied with a lot of options.
Karterados
Staff and facilities The apartment is huge and well equipped - it’s like being at home ! Washing machine and all you even get a first aid kit !!! Which is never provided even in luxury properties Alex is probably the best host I’ve met along my trip over the Cyclades You’re 15min walk away from Fira
Ermoupoli
Great place to stay when visiting Syros. Spacious apartment with great facilities. Host were most helpful. Good location. I have no hesitation recommending CENTRAL APARTMENTs when visiting Syros. PS: Syros is a really great island to visit. Different from the other Cyclades islands.
We were very happy with Hotel Cyclades. It is a short walk from the town centre and the port and a few minutes from the nearest beach. The staff were incredibly friendly. Our room was comfortable and provided everything we needed. The breakfast options were good as well.
Tinos
The view is amazing "as the name point out"! The building is new the rooms are clean and bigger than usual. The owners are very friendly and helpful, ask something to them and they will help you for sure. We loved talking with them about Greece and Cyclades.
Kamares
Pepi and her family are wonderful. The location is excellent and the view of the sea. We ate at the Delfini (hotel) restaurant every day of our stay, it is excellent. Best place to stay and the best food in our 6 week holiday in the Cyclades.
Cyclades staff and hospitality was amazing! They accommodated all of our room requests and we’re able to pick us up from the airport for a very reasonable price! The hotel was also very close to the main town of Fira, about a 20 minute walk.
We had the best 4 days of our trip in the Cyclades at Katerina Hotel. The view is breathtaking, the room is very clean and comfortable. The family running the place is so nice and helpful. Very good food at the restaurant.
Naxos Chora
Casa Amare was our best apartment choice of our entire stay in the Cyclades. The owners are welcoming and give us lots of information when we arrive. We would choose Casa Amare again for a future trip. This is top class!
Apollonia
Excellent location in the heart of Apollonia near the bus station and the night life of Sifnos island. Wonderful and full equipped apartment that keeps the traditional style of Cyclades. Hosts are truly gentle and helpful
