The manager of the resort was amazing. He sent for a bottle of wine and beer for us for our meals at the resort. Room was so comfortable, bed and pillows were perfect. Bathroom was clean. Pool was so nice. Very close to the entrance to the park although we saw few animals the day we went. We stayed 2 nights and had dinner at the restaurant. Wonderful meals..resort is only 1 year old. Would definitely stay here again!

A good place to visit the national park. Book your safari via the homestay. The guide is great.

Vimanra hotel is by far one of the most beautiful places you can find in udawalawe. Its a small family-run hotel located in a lush and green forest, next to a lake. It was amazing to wake up to the sound of birds and taking a dip in the (very clean) swimming pool. The garden is full of plants and fruit trees such as mangos, papayas and pineapple. There's even a small lake filled with fish. The owners are very very kind and helpful. They booked a safari for us and even made us a very, very good dinner on the day that all shops and restaurants were closed. You'll feel immediately at home and at peace in this place. The family room is huge and the bathroom is very big! Shower and toilet are separated which is very convenient for a group of 3 or 4. If you've been in busy Kandy or galle, then this is the perfect place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful lush nature of Sri Lanka . And not to forget: the beds were very comfy and the rooms have airconditioning

Very nice and helpful owners, rooms were very clean. Very refreshing and delicious food. The best part is the beautiful river flowing in front of the rooms. Best quality and price. The safari was arranged according to our needs. It's really amazing. We can recommend to everyone!

What impressed me most was the rate: the price of the room, food, and the safari tour were all very reasonable.

Group Safari Family Bungalow se encuentra en Udawalawe, a 17 km de Parque nacional Udawalawe, y ofrece alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, parking privado gratis, jardín y terraza. Great character and atmosphere. Balcony was a super place to relax and look out at the forest. Breakfast and evening meals good. The owner was especially sociable and helpful. We took an early morning safari organised by the owner and our safari driver was very experienced and pleasant, with an amazing eye for the most well camouflaged chameleon.

I’ve been in Sri Lanka for 4 weeks and stayed at more than a dozen places. This one I will never forget. When I first saw the ad, I thought it looked too good to be true. But since there was a special price for the opening, I thought I’d give it a try. I could not be happier with the choice. I've had an unforgettable experience. This place is absolutely fantastic! To help future guests, I will try to provide as much detail as I can in BOTH columns: The cottage only opened in February 2024, so everything is brand new. Unlike in other places, you actually get what you see in the pictures. Everything about this place is very well thought-through and built in a way such as to allow for a most pleasant stay: The cottage is located very quietly in the middle of nature but still close enough to town (5 min by tuktuk). It has an outdoor terrace with two regular and one swing chair offering a lovely view over the garden. The bedroom is beautifully designed and very spacious. The wardrobe and dresser offer plenty of space to store luggage openly and easily accessible. The beds are very comfortable and the mattrasses have standard European/US length (I mention this because sometimes in Sri Lanka, the mattrasses are shorter so that your feet stick out at the end). The A/C is very powerful and there are no smells (which sometimes happens with older models). It cools down the entire room very evenly. There are multiple electrical outlets which all types of sockets (even USB slots). There are light switches for every single lamp which allows you to set the lighting in just the way you prefer. Worth mentioning here too is the warm temperature of the light. The WiFi is reliable and sufficiently strong for browsing, streaming, and video calls.
