We came to Norway from New York for a family trip across country from Oslo to Bergen in April 2023 and we had booked in for a night at Tuddal Høyfjellshotel to break up the drive. It was our first trip to Norway and had no idea that we were going to have one of the absolute best experiences of the entire trip together there. The place is simply beautiful. The people there are incredibly attentive and helpful. The food at dinner and breakfast is world class. The location is stunning. As a personal side note to the owners: My father came to the U.S. from Kongsberg when he was in his very early 20’s and started his new life and family. Growing up in Southern California where my brother and I were exposed to a lot of the antique Scandinavian items, colors, and style. My father was a committed collector at flea markets and swap meets everywhere, and anytime he came across an old collectible related to his homeland, he would proudly bring it home and share the story of it with us, and then find a place to display it in their home. When we came into the main building to check in to our rooms, I told my 17 and 20 year old daughters, “this…this is the story your Grandfather was trying tell us with all those things”.

Everything was on point. The best add were the swimming pool and sauna - for sure! It was a chilly day and we were very tired so swimming, jacuzzi and sauna were like a gift from heaven. :) We were all alone, so it was even better. The breakfast was fabulous, especially baked salmon. The location is perfect, the staff was beyond friendly.

Situato sul Lago Vågslidvatn, questo hotel si trova a 4 km dal centro sciistico Haukelifjell. Offre la connessione Wi-Fi gratuita e sistemazioni con vista panoramica. Posizione meravigliosa in riva al lago, ancora parzialmente ghiacciato. Dalla camera vista da cartolina sul lago. Colazione variata, ristorante con poche scelte ma piatti molto curati. Ampi spazi comuni dove rilassarsi.

Located 180 km from Oslo, 440 km from Gothenburg, in the heart of Telemark you will find Gausta at 1000 m altitude above Rjukan and Vestfjorddalen. Excellent facilities and view!

Originariamente costruito nel 1894, il Dalen Hotel sorge vicino alle tranquille rive del Canale di Telemark e del Lago Bandak. All the staff from front desk to restaurant were exceptional. Special praise for Joao and Lorenzo . We learned so much about wine and cocktails from them.

Situated by the town hall in Skien city centre, Thon Hotel Høyers offers free WiFi and private parking is possible. Good breakfast not among the best hotel breakfast but it was enough for me.

Set in Gaustablikk, 3.4 km from Gaustatoppen, Gausta View Lodge offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a restaurant. Lovely place to stay for ski in ski out, nice breakfast across the street, will defiantly stay there again. friendly and helpful staff.

Located in Akkerhaugen, 15 km from Bø Summerland, Norsjø Hotell provides accommodation with a fitness centre, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. It’s lovely and the staff were so helpful when we were having car issues! Thank you so much!
