View was great, but the unpainted concrete walls on the patio ruined it a bit. Parking is free and plenty of space. Kitchen is very clean and has enough pots and dishes.

The view was excellent and the accommodations were good for our family of 4 (with 2 adult children). The kitchen was in general well furnished. The beds were fine and there was adequate extra pillows and blankets. The shower was very good, very quick hot water with good pressure. The owner provided excellent directions and instructions for finding the chalet and finding the right parking place. The key lock box was good so we could arrive at any time.

Beautiful hilltop medieval town with so-so castle, great views, ambiance, a great cheese manufacturing tour, some lovely hotels, a Tibetan museum, and a museum of the works of the disturbed anti-human artist HR Giger. If you are into easy-moderate hiking, the Callier chocolate factory, or the nearby towns (Broc or Moreson) Mt., it will be worth more than one day.
I took a lovely hike to Broc on a trail found in the app, AllTrails. This was very worthwhile.

Although very small, Gruyères is one of the most beautiful places in the world! The fondue is not to be missed at any restaurant, and both the castle and the Giger museum and bar are a must for any visiter.

Great location, easy parking. The room was clean.
Great location, easy parking. The room was clean. The room was clearly the worst room in the hotel, facing the parking lot so it was extremely loud, when the cars were leaving. It seemed like the room had 0 sound isolation, we could hear everything. The staff was not very friendly and clearly did not care for us as guests, I needed to ask extra times for information about what to do and see around.
Not very good value for money in my opinion

Picturesque old town, pleasant castle, traditional cheese based menu’s available at multiple restaurants. Very pastoral and serene countryside with views of valleys and mountains. Helicopter sightseeing flight from Gruyere airport with SwissHelicopter was fantastic (defined packages available but can in-effect charter the helicopter by the minute to customise your experience... cheaper than you might expect!). The pilot was fabulous, and the views wonderful.

Gruyeres is a picturesque small village that can be toured in a morning or afternoon. We had a fondue dinner at Hotel de Ville and breakfast at Auberge de la Halle - both highly recommended. Parking is outside of the village and all is accessible on foot, equivalent in size to 2-3 large city blocks. Especially liked the castle and Giger bar (did not tour the museum).

We went to visit the HR Giger museum.
We went to visit the HR Giger museum. But the village is very popular with tourists from all over the world. Everyone was very friendly. I would imagine it’s a good base to visit other areas. We got a bus very easily to Moléson so getting around was simple. We only stayed one night so didn’t get to see lots. It’s a beautiful village but that does mean lots of tourists who come in time for lunch we found. I would imagine if you didn’t book a table for lunch you might wait. By dinner we found everyone had left so was much quieter. We stayed early October so might be different other time’s of the year
Arranging the booking was easy and Julia on reception was very friendly and helpful. The building is one of the main hotels in the town centre and looks beautiful as do teh others. nice inside it still has charm but starts to look a little dated. The bedrooms was large, comfortable and clean- the bathroom a little dark as no window but everything worked and was fine. The view of the mountains from the conservatory dining room was fabulous but would have been improved if the windows were clean.
Nice and beautiful little hotel in the middle of the charming town of Gruyere.
The staff was ultra friendly and very helpful, we needed some tickets for a special event at the Giger Museum and they organized them for us to assure we wont face a sold out or have to do a line at the Museum, was a very nice detail from them.
Restaurant is very beautiful with a great view and food was delicious.
The staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast buffet offers a vast variety of choices. The location is ideal, within 5 minutes walking distance from the center. The hotel is isolated from the stream of tourists and the public car park by a little hill and is therefore absolutely quiet. The rooms with balcony have a view of the mountains and of a deer park.
The location was incredible; so beautiful! lt is within the town fortified by castle walls and close to both the castle and the Maison de Gruyères. The Maison Cailler was only an hour walk away. The room was also very close to some beautiful nature views. Chantal was very welcoming and accomodating and speaks English well
I loved everything about my room: the furnitures, the bathroom and the wonderful view.
The staff were nice and helpful. The restaurant was also good.
I came to Gruyères to visit the H. R. Giger Museum and bar. The hotel is centrally located, only a few steps from the Museum. It was perfect for me.
Highly recommended.
Pretty hotel, as if in a post card. Being able to stroll in the center of the medieval town late in the evening and early in the morning were special treats. Our room was small but lovely, extremely clean and appropriate for an overnight stay in the medieval town of Gruyere. Staff was very welcoming.
This was an incredibly cozy place to stay with an incredible view. The beds were a bit squeaky, but they were quarto super comfy. Staff was incredibly polite and able to assist us with being American. Would love to stay here again if we ever go back to Gruyères.
The staffs are really nice and helpful. They can suggest options to make our stay more pleasant. They also give further information about the area which help us plan our activities. We also have dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and it was lovely.
Very nice hotel to stay in Gruyere! Wonderful staff! We had our fondue dinner at the restaurant of the hotel and it was great. You can pay 10 euros at the hotel as the special deal for 12 hours parking at the one of the parkings right before the town.
We loved the location right in the middle of the old town with beautiful scenery out of every window. The rooms had old wooden beams and the bed was a nice queen size. Each room had a separate bathroom with a nice Swiss-made hair dryer.
Coffee machine (a replacement for one that had broken down) didn’t work properly. No croissants left after half an hour. Rest of the breakfast boring, especially in an area when hotel breakfasts are usually delicious
The chose for breakfast very good. Location also very good as it was not exactly in the center, but few minutes walk that gave an extra silence to the hotel. The view from the terasse was just amazi g
Very friendly welcome. We were shown personally to our room and informed of the layout of the hotel. Unusual to have such service these days. Thank you to the young lady who was at reception!
